Previous ICT4D events

The annual international Symposium “Perspectives on ICT4D”, is an event to share ideas, and discuss recent issues and trends in ICT4D, from a wide range of experiences, angles, and scientific disciplines. Key questions are e.g. What are successful or promising contemporary approaches to ICT4D? What is the role of ICT in the broader context of development? What has scientific research to offer? What is the contribution and role of different disciplines, such as computer science and social sciences?

The 7th Symposium Perspectives on ICT4D was collocated with the 20th ACM Web Science Conference in Southampton UK), and was held on 7 July 2020 as a fully online webinar, titled “Digital (in)equality, Digital Inclusion, Digital Humanism“. Find the summary and the proceedings here.

The “6th Symposium Perspectives on ICT4D” Tackling Global Challenges, Collaboratively, was held on 23 May 2019.
Fifth Symposium “Perspectives on ICT4D” The Web and the Digital Divide, was collocated with the 18th ACM Web Science Conference and the Turing Lecture by Sir Tim Berners-Lee, WebSci18 in Amsterdam – 27 May 2018.  Proceedings of this workshop are: http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-2120/
